USDA says Russia can export record 25 mln tns of wheat in 2016–17
MOSCOW, Jun 14 (PRIME) -- The U.S. Agriculture Department has raised the estimate of Russian wheat exports in the 2016–2017 agricultural year by 500,000 tonnes to a record of 25 million tonnes due to an expected bumper crop, as follows from a statement seen by PRIME on Tuesday.
The wheat harvest forecast for the 2016–2017 agricultural year was raised by 1 million tonnes to 64 million tonnes.
According to Russia’s Federal Customs Service, the country exported 33.04 million tonnes of grain, of which 23.904 million tonnes of wheat from July 2015 till June 8, 2016.
